Staff Content Designer
About the team
The Salesforce CDX team is on a mission to create products that are easy to use and set a high standard for user experience at Salesforce. Our content design team works collaboratively, iteratively, and strategically with our design, engineering, writing, research, and product partners to bring these designs to life.
As a Staff Content Designer, you will shape experiences at scale, influence product direction, mentor new content designers, and help define the future of content design across Salesforce. You bring fluency in AI-assisted workflows and AI-ready content design, and help influence product and AI feature strategy.
Please include your portfolio in your application.
Responsibilities
You lead content design and information architecture, ensuring the narrative flow and structure of the design is logical, intuitive, and scalable across complex product ecosystems.
The experiences you create use simple language to reduce product complexity. You write the words, decide where they go, and how to deliver them inside our apps to help customers achieve their goals with Salesforce. You establish standards and reusable patterns that raise the bar for in-app communication across teams.
Hand-in-hand with research and design, you work iteratively at the start of the product development cycle. You influence product strategy early, framing problems, defining content vision, and aligning cross-functional leaders around clear, customer-centered outcomes. Along the way, you’ll gain experience gathering feedback, presenting to stakeholders, peers, and leaders about your work. You regularly present to senior leadership to drive alignment, clarity, and executive buy-in.
Independently select and apply AI tools to routine design work (prototyping, UI text, research synthesis), demonstrably improving efficiency or quality – while critically evaluating AI-generated output for accuracy, tone, and trustworthiness before publication.
Audit existing content and design patterns for AI-readiness (how well they support AI-surfaced help and conversational UX), prioritizing fixes by impact.
Articulate where human judgment on customer behavior and design quality adds value AI can’t replicate – and influence how AI-assisted features are designed, not just documented.
Act as a multiplier by mentoring designers and sharing AI best practices across the team.
Work with Content Experience and cross-functional teams and stakeholders to determine direction and priorities for your team
Shape the long-term vision for content design within Salesforce and influence broader organizational standards
Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders, translating business objectives into clear, customer-centered content direction
Potential deliverables
UI text and in-app user assistance
User flows and designs
Voice and tone frameworks and terminology guidance
Content patterns
Enterprise-scale workflows and cross-cloud experience narratives
Headless content design
Vibe-first and prompt-driven content design
AI-readiness audits
Required skills
Previous experience working closely with product designers, or as part of a UX team, is highly desired.
Excellent in-app writing and editing skills
Eye for design and information architecture
Ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively with senior leadership
Ability to adhere to styles and processes
Proven, independent use of AI tools with critical evaluation of AI-generated content for quality, accuracy, and trust.
Experience auditing content/UI for AI-readiness gaps and improving it to meet AI-ready standards.
Strong IA skills for both human and AI discoverability; ability to articulate where human judgment adds irreplaceable value.
Experience shaping how AI-assisted features are designed (not just documented) and leading team-wide AI adoption efforts.
Preferred skills
Ideally, at least 8–10 years managing complex content projects across multiple content portfolios as a content designer or in an allied role
4+ years developing and implementing design-centric content strategy
Experience with vibe design tools and approaches
Strong collaboration skills to partner with stakeholders to identify key customer scenarios and prioritize content
Proven ability to write across a spectrum of content types – UI text, onboarding, and more
Experience successfully partnering with SMEs to obtain, clarify, and validate content
Strong customer focus with experience writing for engineering audiences
Experience leading cross-cloud or multi-product initiatives to deliver cohesive end-to-end customer experiences
Ability to define and evolve content standards, governance models, and scalable systems across teams
