Join Ideagen and help build next-generation mobile products used by over 18,500 customers across highly regulated industries. As a senior engineer, you'll own the delivery of complex mobile features, technical migrations and AI-assisted development practices within your squad. Working across iOS, Android, or both, you'll help create modern, native mobile experiences on our evolving platform whilst providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and acting as a key quality gate for design and engineering decisions. This is a hands-on role focused on building new products and capabilities, not just maintaining legacy applications, working within our global engineering organisation. The role offers a clear progression path into Staff Engineer or Lead Engineer positions!

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex mobile features, technical migrations, and platform improvements across iOS, Android, or both.
• Drive high-quality engineering practices, including architecture, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainable code standards.
• Lead the effective use of AI agents and orchestration workflows for feature delivery, testing, and problem-solving, applying sound judgement on when and how to use AI tools while sharing best practices across the team.
• Build and enhance automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes to ensure reliable and high-performing mobile applications.
• Mentor and support engineers within the squad, providing technical guidance and acting as a key reviewer for designs and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams to shape mobile standards, share best practices, and influence technical direction.
• Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, processes, and platform capabilities, driving solutions from idea to implementation.

Skills and Experience

• Experienced in native mobile development, with expertise in iOS (Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit), Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose), or both.
• Deep technical knowledge of modern mobile development practices, including architecture patterns, modularisation, dependency injection, and asynchronous programming.
• Proven experience delivering complex mobile features, technical migrations, and solving performance, scalability, or stability challenges.
• Strong understanding of mobile security, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering best practices.
• A commitment to clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, with experience building and improving automated testing frameworks.
• Experience mentoring engineers, providing technical guidance, and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.
• Confidence using AI-assisted development tools and agent orchestration workflows to deliver complex features, refactoring initiatives, and testing strategies.
